To facilitate the provision of comprehensive services to the people of Maui County in the four phases of disaster: preparation, response, recovery, and mitigation, and to foster cooperation and coordination among private, non-profit and government agencies.
The Mission of the Maui (VOAD) shall be accomplished by achieving the following goals:
Create a climate of cooperation, trust and commitment among Maui VOAD agency members.
Develop an effective Maui VOAD Disaster Plan, ensuring a collaborative, effective and timely disaster response.
Prepare Maui VOAD member agencies to respond to disasters by:
* sharing and encouraging inter/intra agency training;
* encouraging the development of individual agency disaster plans;
* developing agency profiles describing resources and services that would be available in disaster preparedness, response and recovery; and developing an emergency notification procedure.
